Ticktime Cube Pomodoro Timer

After years of using a phone for a timer, I forget how nice it is to have a physical timer within arm’s reach. From work breaks to timing one of my son’s reading time — the Ticktime Cube Pomodoro timer is a great countdown timer. For remote worker who need to take 30 minute lunch breaks, 15 minute breaks, or those who want to work for 25 minutes and rest between 3–5 minutes — also known as the Pomodoro Technique — the Ticktime Cube Pomodoro timer is an inexpensive way to manage your time.

The Ticktime Cube Pomodoro Timer is a small, square timer that activates by turning the corresponding timer amount towards the sky. If you want to silence the timer you face the display towards the sky. That’s it. Simple. And if you want to customize the timer touch the fingerprint icon to increase by that sides pre-determined increment. You can also customize the timer countdown by increasing minutes and seconds individually on the face. Once the timer is up, it will beep or vibrate until you flip the display towards the sky. The volume can be increased or decreased on the display face as well.

I purposely put off writing this review for a month because I wanted to see how long the rechargable battery would last and to my surprise the Ticktime Cube Pomodoro Timer is still going strong. I also like to purposely not read directions and use a product right out of the box to give an honest impression and the Ticktime Cube Pomodoro Timer was dead simple without any training. I had accidentally dropped the timer and to my surprise it stuck to a metal pole! It has a built-in magnet to mount to metal surfaces, a great feature in my opinion. Because I am a TV editor, I often go into machine rooms to manage computers or tape decks and having the Ticktime Cube Pomodoro timer with magnetic mount really helps me put the timer on rackmount shelving and still be able to see and hear it.
Technically, the Ticktime Cube Pomodoro Timer is supposed to last 10 hours on a single 3 hour charge. And if you need a simple count-up timer, flip the Ticktime Pomodoro Timer around and the second display will begin counting up. It comes in 5 color options: Black, White, Blue, Pink, and Yellow.

In the end, I have been getting tired of having almost “everything” made into a phone app — timers included. The Ticktime Cube Pomodoro Timer is a great stand alone product that feels easier to access than any app and is always ready to run. Check the Ticktime Pomodoro Timer for around $30 on Kickstarter https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ticktime/ticktime-cube-flip-to-start-countdown-and-manage-your-time?ref=bbp0hd
