Review: Mixcder E10 Active Noise Cancelling Bluetooth Headphones
Headphones are a tricky product to get correct. Some fit right but don’t sound right, some sound great but are hundreds of dollars, and some sound great but fall apart. So what should you do? I think you should check out the Mixcder E10 Active Noise Cancelling Bluetooth Headphones.
The most enticing part about the Mixcder E10 headphones is the price to quality/function ratio. The E10’s sell for around $89.99 with free Prime Shipping on Amazon.com or for around $112.99 with free shipping on www.Mixcder.com. But more than just a low price for the features you get in the E10s is the high quality all metal craftsmanship of headphones themselves. From the sturdy exterior to the comfortable ear-covers.
I personally don’t usually like most over (or on top of the ear) headphones. They just don’t fit comfortably. Sometimes they will but they are usually the headphones that cost an exorbitant price of at least $300 and even then they don’t always feel right.
The E10 over the ear headphones and top headband fit and feel great. And as a bonus they have the Left and Right ears marked with a “L” and “R” respectively, which is surprisingly handy. They are comfortable to wear for hours at a time without getting “ear fatigue.” I have medium sized ears that stick out a little and they fit perfectly. But I could imagine that someone with large ears would not be comfortable with the E10s.
Inside the box of the Mixcder E10 headphones is a carrying case that isn’t really my style (probably wouldn’t use it), the actual E10 headphones, 3.5mm audio cable in case you want to run the headphones wired, USB cable for charging, and a free airplane adapter. The airplane adapter is a nice little freebie since most headphones do not come with them and once you realize you need one it is probably too late and the airport will charge you $10 that you don’t want to spend.
One surprise I didn’t see when I started researching the Mixcder E10 headphones was the included microphone for calls when used with your cell phone. I guess I should have guessed a microphone would be there but it was a nice surprise to know that not only could I have great noise reducing headphones when mowing the lawn, flying on an airplane, or trying to tune out an entire Starbucks in Hollywood while working — but I could also take a call quickly and easily by pushing the power button. When testing the answer and call function, my voice was clear and the receiver’s voice was also clear.
Technically, the Mixcder E10 headphones not only have active noise reduction but they also have a purported 30–35 hour run time (depending on loudness and noise reduction use), a 1 hour quick charge time indicated by an LED on the headphones, 32 Ohm impedance, 120db SPL (sound pressure level a.k.a. Bass loudness), Bluetooth 5.0 which works up to 33 feet, and low latency. Through a few walls I was able to get about 15 feet away before my audio started to break up. And pairing the Mixcder E10s with my Samsung Galaxy Android-based phone was simple. Hold the power button down for a little longer than normal, the LED will blink red and blue, once paired it will stop.
I know what you are thinking, “Yeah yeah we can read the manual, how did the Mixcder E10 headphones actually sound and perform?” The E10’s sounded great once I customized an EQ profile for them. Out of the box they were pretty bland but once I was able to cut the mids and highs through the low end sounds the E10s sounded just as good if not better than other high end headphones.
In terms of the Active Noise Cancellation, it works but not a full muting of outside noise. I was playing around with the E10s in a room where my kids were playing Roblox through their speakers while I was folding laundry and listening to music. I could hear their audio but it sounded distant. It was more like the bass was removed and we were left with some light high and mid tones. When switching the ANC off and on while listening to music I only noticed a little difference. However, I did notice a bigger difference when I had no audio playing and I was switching the ANC off and on. It was interesting to hear just how much noise was being cancelled.
The Mixcder E10 headphones come with 1 year limited warranty which covers defective parts and craftsmanship resulting from manufacturing. You must have proof of purchase and will be responsible for shipping as well as any customs duties if applicable. You can find detailed warranty info here: https://mixcder.com/blogs/news/warranty-q-a.
In the end, if you are looking for high end headphones without the high end price tag, the Mixcder E10 Active Noise Cancelling Bluetooth Headphones are worth the $89.99 on Amazon.
