MP Magic Sport-Up Merino Wool Sport Socks
Over the last year of chasing around 3 sons, I have realized just how important high-quality socks are in my life. I have previously reviewed the Merino Wool based, MP Magic 37.5 Tech socks made to keep your feet warm while also being comfortable, durable, and fend of bacteria. I love those socks, but being in Southern California doesn’t always allow us to wear warm socks. When it’s 110 degrees, I need cooler socks. What I love about the MP Magic socks is their durability even through multiple washings, comfort, and fit. The MP Magic Sport-Up socks are built using Merino Wool which I have become a huge fan of, not only does it wick away moisture — but also helps keep a constant, comfortable temperature. When wearing plain white athletic socks I always notice my toes get cold and overall not temperature controlled. With the MP Magic socks I always have a comfortable and constant temperature.
The MP Magic Sport-Up socks take comfortable socks made for activity to the next level. I would wear them all day long — running after my kids, riding the exercise bike, and general use. I was always comfortable. They are made from 53% Merino Wool, 30% MP Special Yarn (Nylon), and 17% Lycra. This mix of materials really helps in not just making comfortable socks but durable and moisture wicking. Moreover, the Sport-Up socks don’t get too hot. They have a nice compression (makes me pretend I’m more athletic than I am) to keep the blood flowing properly, added stitching around the heels to avoid holes, and even “L” and “R” markings to make sure each sock is on the right foot.
The MP Magic Sport-Up socks fit snug and don’t fall down. A lot of socks tend to stretch around my calves and then eventually wear out their snug fit and fall, the MP Magic Sport-Up socks have stayed up for a couple months now and I don’t see them falling anytime soon. What improvements could be made? I think a little more of a grip on the bottom side would be helpful. I have hardwood floors in my house and I noticed I was slipping around a little when running around with the kids. In terms of size the MP Magic Sport-Up socks I reviewed were a size XL.
I wear a US Men’s 9.5–10 depending on the brand of shoe. So if you have larger feet than a 10, these might start to get a little tight. I personally love the snug fit but I am at the bottom of XL size spectrum.
In the end, I love nice socks and the MP Magic Sport-Up socks live up to their price tag.
