Review: Atmos Compact and Rechargeable Automatic Air Pump and Vacuum
If you’ve ever needed to pump up a basketball or even purchased vacuum bags to save space when packing, you have definitely realized a hand air pump is not the most efficient way to work. And if you’ve made a late night run to Target or Walmart to grab a pump you will quickly realize that hand pumps can range from $5 to $30 or even more. And the cheap ones are not great (trust) me. So what if you could pay under $30 and not only have a rechargeable automatic air pump but also attachments to use on vacuum bags? The Atmos portable pump is your answer.
The Atmos pump is brought to you by Micro Novelty who has used Kickstarter before to ramp up interest and production in other air pumps but nothing so small, light, and rechargable as the Atmos. For $29 on the Atmos Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/203753556/atmos-an-all-rounded-portable-vacuum-pump-for-daily-life?ref=discovery&term=atmos you can be sent the actual Atmos pump with sports ball attachments and vacuum bag attachments, as well as 1 small and 1 medium vacuum bag. Additional vacuum bags can be purchased for $3, $4, and $5 depending on the size ordered.
When my family went on a recent trip to Disneyland my wife and I needed to pack our 3 sons’ clothes for 2 days but wanted to keep it to one suitcase if possible. Luckily for me I had just received the Atmos pump and 2 large vacuum bags. We were able to separate each kid’s clothes into separate vacuum bags (well 2, I needed to order 1 more bag) which even allowed us to consolidate everyone’s belongings (including my wife’s and my belongings) into one suitcase! This save tons of space in the car and really helped us when we have to coral all the children when walking to the hotel room, one more set of hands are free! When using the Atmos pump along with the vacuum bag attachment it takes under 30 seconds for the pump to suck out the air. Basically no time. When pumping up a football or basketball it took me around 40 seconds to fully fill the balls. But really I was saved from my arm falling off.
The Atmos comes packaged with 4 ball needles, a vacuum bag attachment that will work on most standard vacuum bags, and a micro USB charging cable. The Atmos pump itself is not much larger than a stick of butter so it doesn’t take up much room. The pump takes just under an hour to charge and will last a long time. Micro Novelty says one charge will deflate 8 vacuum bags or inflate 25 basketballs.
In the end, the Atmos automatic portable pump is an incredible deal at under $30 including attachments. The Atmos is light, compact, and inexpensive. Notwithstanding pumping up sports balls, the Atmos will save luggage space when traveling by using the extremely cheap and useful vacuum bags.
